  Yes, the last time I was in CH all my euro plugs did fit (including the "nose" in your picture).

  Two-prong plugs are fine. Schuko won't fit. We use Type-J in Switzerland: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stecker-Typ_J

  Not really an accomodation issue: does anyone knows if telco shops are open on sunday? I'd like to get a swiss SIM for the conference duration, but I'll arrive on sunday afternoon, not exactly the best timeframe for shops to be open

  If you are arriving by plane, there is also a Swisscom, Sunrise and Orange shop at Zurich Airport public shopping area. These are usually less crowded, and then you get the sim faster :-)
